Who is Forming Lives by Charlie Kukla

The lessons children learn in the Forming Lives Recreation Center's classrooms are the five principles of life and devotionals. The spiritual aspect of God and His ability to bring kindness and compassion to those most in need is an important value to us and one we wish to share. Helping those in need is at the core of who we are and is what we focus on the most. To break the cycle of poverty, we have built buildings and programs that educate, mentor, train, and inspire the youth of Colombia. Saint Cecelia was chosen as an underdeveloped community in Colombia that can benefit from our work. It means a lot to us to make a difference in a community through authentic, meaningful change that has visible impacts.

We focus on providing growth and benefits to the youth by developing their character through games, activities, exercises, programs, workshops, and hands-on projects. All of this is currently done in the recreation center alongside classroom lessons provided by teachers.

If this sounds like something you want to be part of, whether to help in a big or small way, we’re always open to volunteers! Some of our outreach opportunities involve our yearly mission trip to Colombia, which will happen this summer from June 30th to July 8th. We also offer a Godparent Plan where you can sponsor a child in need.

You can get involved in various other activities year-round. For more information, visit our website at forming-lives.org. You can find us on Facebook and Instagram.
